I went out with a friend on his boat near Meydenbauer Bay. We started trolling for cutts with spoons and wedding rings with no luck. It wasn't a good idea with all the Seafair traffic. I got my line snagged on a boat that was tailing us and ended up cutting my line. We moved into the Bay after that, dropped anchor and had fun with medium sized perch. Caught about 30 between the two of us.

We headed back and had just moored in the marina when I spotted a huge largemouth just chillin in 3-4' of water at a corner of the dock. I threw in a weightless roboworm and tried for about 5 minutes with no luck. Fishing's not allowed in the marina so we called it a day.

I know that they say fishing is not allowed in the marina, and the signs are posted, but in actuality, they can't keep you fishing from fishing in there. We need to not shy away from fishing anywhere there is navigable water that is not posted by the Washington State Game Department. I have been threatened on another Marina, and stood my ground. I told the guy (kid) there that I would wait until the Sheriff got there if he wanted to call him, and so I waited for over an hour, but he never showed up. Anyway, point is that nobody ownes the water, whether they are leasing it or not. If you can get there by a public launch, river, stream, etc, then you are in. But once you step onto the property, then you would be trespassing.

Brianh, I agree with you, but I was actually dock fishing after we had moored in the marina. The fish I was trying to catch was at this nook that I couldn't get to if I were in the boat. Seeing that I was standing on the dock in the marina, the rules applied to me.
