That was back before all the jerk litterbugs forced the forest service to convert it to day-use only. There's nice facilities there now, but you're right -- it's quite a hike down to the water now.
The water stays c-c-cold very late into the summer and as I recall it has a pretty deep hole in the middle. We never had much luck fishing there either. I think your fish there is bigger than anything I ever caught there! I usually came home with hangovers instead.

8/6/2008 4:21:00 PMWe did our annual fishing/camping (just the guys) trip there in '07 and used float tubes. We got up early (you can camp there now, nice little campground) and were using mosquito flies. So many cutthroats jumping you could almost club 'em with your flyrod!! Great lake, very serene and zen-like! Great to see a post about it.
