Hit McIntosh this morning, was on the water by 5:30am. Only fished here once before last summer but love this lake - it just looks like prime bass habitat.
Started off working the shoreline to the right of the boat launch and caught a chunky little LMB on a big white/red buzzbait, maybe a pound and a half tops. Missed a few swirls but no more takers on the buzz, so switched over to a Mann's hardnose frog (black with red flake). Got a few more swirls in the grass then decided to kick over to the opposite shoreline and fish the pilings.
Caught one on the frog and it was a little smaller than the first one. 10am rolled around pretty quick, switched over to a junebug/chartreuse lizard texas-style and got a few nibbles but nothing to set a hook on. Fished all the downed wood against the bank and didn't get so much as a look. The wife called me to come home and fix her lunch (she's still recuperating from surgery) so pulled out of the parking lot by 11am.
Decent day but had to work at it just to land two fish. Could have been a lot better.
