Tried some urban shore/dock fishing this morning. First stop was Green Lake. Got to it on the south end boat docks. Started with a little mepps with no action. After ten minutes, switched to a floating perch rapala. Flipped it back next to the concrete deck with the overhang. On about my second or third cast, I got it right next to the deck. I began to reel and felt resistance. Wondering what was holding the lure back, I kept slowly reeling when the resistance became some tugging. Fish on! He didn't trash much, and only started really resisting when I got him close to me. I saw that he was much larger than the normal dinks I catch there. He headed under the floating dock I was on and bent the rod pretty good. So I worked him back out, and lipped him up. You can tell me how heavy he looks... I am thinking a couple of pounds.
I only stayed about 5 minutes after that, then moved on to Gaswork Park on Lake Union.
Saw three other anglers at Green Lake near me. A father and son, who took my picture, and one other guy. I think they were still fishing for trout. Nice weather this morning, a little wind, but not too cold.
