Took the family to the lake last night. Launched about 6:30. The weather was awesome. Only a couple boats on the water and not too many people out playing. My wife and I both trolled wedding ring setups with a chunk of nightcrawler trailing on the hook at speed 2 on the Minn kota. I used pink and she used chartreuse.... she caught most of the fish. We caught all our fish in the middle (deepest) part of the lake. We didn't troll to deep, maybe 10 to 20 feet down. Lots of fish surfacing in the area and consistently got hits when we went through. We fished until about 8pm and the totals were 5 landed for her and one landed for me. I lost a nice one at the boat and had a few more hits. She lost a nice one also and had a couple more hits, so I'd say it was pretty good for an hour and a half of fishing. Granted, we were using worms. My wife's second fish was a 16 inch bow that got her pretty excited. We kept three (including the big'en) for dinner.
Ah yes, this surprised me, one of the smaller rainbows had half of a Senko in it's craw. It spit it out while I was putting it on the stringer. That was a mouthful for that trout. Also, the 16" had a hook in it's stomach and looked like it had broke someone's line in a previous fight.
Don't know the water temp, but it was pretty warm on the surface (big surprise).
It was a good night to be on the water.
