Fished Capitol lake for the first time in the Pontoon.
I rowed from the launch near the I-5 bridge down to the railroad trestle. There were some Kings jumping, many were a little dark already. They were jumping in the North Basin, also down by I-5. I tried several baits and lures. I only hooked one little fish that got off at the boat. It was about 10 inches long and looked like either a chub or a squawfish. I didn't have time to identify it. It hit a piece of shrimp. I had one other strike but no Salmon.
The lake is very weedy, there are just some channels you can fish. It is full of three spine sticklebacks.
There is a spot at Marathon park that looks like is used for boat launching. Does anyone know if you can launch a small craft there? One problem the parking area there says two hour limit.
There were a few guys fishing down by the I-5 bridge but I didn't see anybody hook up.
