We caught about 9 perch between 9-12 inches (most around 10-11) in a couple of hours. not fishing real hard for them. We were in 16ft of water at the church hole, vegetation sparse. The bite seemed more aggressive if reeling real slow off the bottom once they hit it initially. The only problem was about half of them had worm eggs in them. I hate to fillet a fish and waste it by having to throw it away. Going to try again on Sunday and see if the results are the same. Maybe the water maggots wont ski so close to us this time.

So what are worm eggs? Are they distinctively different than spawning eggs? Can you tell them apart? Thanks!

the eggs i'm talking about are little yellow eggs throughout the meat of the fish. Haven't had much time to fish seriously this summer. In other words i havent been bass fishing and my two bassin neighbors haven't been getting out either the last few weeks. mostly i just anchor up at some point and hope the perch are in the area (2 little babies on board, need to keep it simple)

So they were worm-infested eh? Lets go try some deeper water. Did you get any fillets that were decent or did they all suck?

Had that little fillet tonight for dinner, man those salmon kick ass!
