I fished Lake Sixteen from 5:45 pm till dark trolling a variety of flies. I first fished the south east portion of the lake where the majority of trout seem to hang out. My finder indicated no fish in the area. I headed north along the west side of the lake and found large schools of fish. As the evening continued these trout became very active feeding on the surface, jumping and turning often. I was the only one on the lake and as I mentioned, I tried a wide variety of flies in an attempt to figure out what they were interested in. I was unsuccessful. I also didn't have a floating line which I definitely need to get. It was fun to see the fish so active. It was encouraging. The water was 68.2 degrees so still a bit warm in my opinion. I also trolled a weddingring behind a flash lite, a frog flatfish, and I tossed Roostertail spinners in green and one in white. No luck, not even a bite. So, once again, very nice trip, perfect weather, no wind, clean water conditions, and no luck catching. I will continue trying and believe as the water cools the trout bite will improve.
