We went fishing at West Medical Lake today. My 6 year old daughter who hardly ever catches anything because she gets bored easily, had cast her pole into the water without thinking anything of it. Her dad had just returned from getting us snacks and water when he noticed her bobber and pole moving. He saw an extremely large fin roll by at the same time and told her to reel it in. She reeled her little heart out and the line snapped-taking the line and bobber with it. Luckily, the fish stayed close to the shore and we were able to retrieve the fish and the bobber without much of a fight with the help of a nice russian man. She ended up pulling in a 10 lb German brown trout that was 26 inches long. She was so happy she tells everyone that she is the best fisherman ever!
