Hit up Heart Lake for a little Sunday afternoon fishing. Got there around 12:30 and fished until 2:00pm.
The lake has some algae, and water clarity is reduced from my last visit a couple months ago. I failed to get water temps. It was a cool, overcast day with ~5mph winds.
Using leaders ~30" long we caught two long but scrawny rainbows during our visit. Both were kept and enjoyed that evening. There was a boat anchored ~100yds from us which also boated 3 fish in the period of time we were there. It looked like they were dangling nightcrawlers over the edge...?
We also saw at least a dozen acrobatic fish dramatically break the surface (read flying fish!).
It's good to know the fish are still here! The crowds have died down quite a bit, but it was also Oyster Run weekend.
