Went to Clear Lake Saturday a/m. Got to the lake around 6:30 a/m..pretty freakin' cold , the temp around 29-30 deg.
There was a pretty good breeze which made it seem even colder. Water temp around 55 deg and there was a lot of steam coming up from the lake.
That steam along with the breeze put a coat of ice on almost everything in the boat...did I mention it was cold!
Started fishing using top water plugs and buzz baits. Caught a LMB around 7:15 a/m fishing the pads on the east shore, weighed in just under 3lbs. Put him in the livewell and took the pic a little later after I could feel my hands. Was released after the pic.
"You gotta love top water bites in the morning"
Not much after that. Started trolling for trout later and caught this 14" "Koke" on a silver and black Rapala. This little guy hit like a Mack truck and fought like 5 lber. Caught a few perch and another little LMB while I was trolling, one perch was decent.
Was going to keep the trout but decided to release it after I took a pic.
Warmed up decent after the sun came up and burned through the fog.
