What a day! No wind, overcast without the blazing hot sun and few recreational boaters.

Several PSA Lk Wash members consistently catch trout on the lake with lead core line. Its been years since I fished lead core but spooled some lead core line on a reel and start the day out with four colors. Forty minutes later the rod tip bounces and its "fish on."

I start reeling the fish in and quickly remember why I quit using lead core. I had 50' or more of leader on the lead core and the trout is at the surface just going crazy jumping out of the water while back at the boat my rod tip is barely moving. About exciting as reeling in walleye! To make a long story short put the lead core away, dropped a ball on the down-rigger and caught two other trout. Used pop gear and wedding ring/worm trolling about 1.75 mph.

Will not see another day like Sunday again for months only wish the fishing had been better.
