Decided to take another crack at Heart lake in the float tube before the 31st and I am very glad I did. First I would like to say that I finally med a fellow WL.com member, Dave, and had a great time meeting and talking with him. We were the only ones fishing the whole time I was there. I started out sometime around 9:30 or 9:45, I think, and it was a very chilly overcast morning with a slight breeze that came and went.

I started out with a white and yellow 1/64th oz tube jig tipped with a green power worm and got my first fish about two minutes after launching. I saw it rise and made a cast to it which it picked up almost immediately on the sink. I fished for a little over two hours and ended the day catching 5 and keeping 3. All the fish came on a similar rig with the only changes I made being switching between the green power worm and natural power worms. When I got home I measured the fish and the smallest was just over 14" and the largest was about 15.5", all were thick and healthy.

While it wasn't wide open fishing because it was usually a good amount of time between fish, it was an excellent morning to be on the water and enjoying a beautiful fall morning. I saw geese, ducks, an eagle, some beautiful foliage, and met someone else who enjoys fishing and this site. Great to meet you Dave and hope to fish with you again in the future.

Hey Matt,

Great to meet you to and I look forward to fishing with you again as well. You did well today. I ended up with 2, one after you left was just under 14.5 inches. I posted a report but my web browser said "page could not be displayed." So I am not sure if it went through. I will give it a day and if it didn't go through I will re-post it. I saved my narrative on a Word doc. I also took a pic of my 2 on the cutting board at home. Man, those were nice fish. What a blast! Anyway, Thanks Matt, I hope to see you out there again. Take Care.

Dave
