Took my girlfriend for a quick outing to try for some crappie from the shore. Fished from the parking area for about an hour with worms under a float. We both had a few bites each but my girlfriend landed the only one. It was a pumpkinseed sunfish that was decent sized.
The water level was surprisingly low for this time of year. Probably a good 2.5' - 3' below normal. Maybe the beaver dam at the opposite end was breached. I will be back in the spring with the boat to investigate.
