I finally managed to break free from work for a day and I headed up to Dog Lake to clear my head and get some fresh air. I arrived around 10:30 and the temperature was 40 degrees with a slight breeze (yeah, it was chilly). I had the lake to myself (Dog Lake generally clears of anglers by September). To my surprise, I caught three trout. Two small ones, which I released, and one nice 17.5 beauty (which I kept for supper). This is probably my last trip here of the year. It won't be long at all until it will be completely frozen over. The bait was pink power eggs on the bottom. I fished a new spot this time. I fished the East side where the creek flows out.
