Tough day on the water today. Sparky and I hit the lake at about 730 am. Water surface temperature was 51. On my second cast I connected with a nice 3lb smallie on the fall. Did one of the quick releases at the boat.....well that sounds better than saying I LOST it at the boat anyway! Right then I knew that would be my only big bite of the day. Sure enough it was. We had a few other bites but they were probably perch. The fish I fought was in about 18ft of water under a dock.
We fished everything today from 7ft to 60ft. We threw everything from d shot, texas rigged plastics, jigs, crankbaits/lipless crankbaits, swimbaits and spinning jigs. Few small bites! No fish boated (not even a perch)! Wind picked up around 10am but was very calm prior! We were off the water by 1200. Tight lines eveyone!
