Well after the seminar yesterday at Three Rivers and talking fishing all day I was ready for action. I got a late start at about 9:30am and fished until 2:00pm. Ended up catching 6 smallmouth, all in the 2-3lb range with the biggest one pushing the scale at just over 3lbs. Also had the infamous "one that got away" that came unbuttoned, felt like a heavier fish, but I'm convinced they grow after you lose them :). All the fish were caught on the techniques discussed yesterday, with most the fish coming on a 3/4-1oz football head and either a 6" hula grub or a sweet beaver. The fish seemed to be in the 35-40' range. Surface temp was about 55 degrees. I would guess the rest of the month will continue to be good if the weather cooperates. Tight lines!
