Another great day on Rufus Woods...Boated over 40 Rainbows today.. Weather conditions were very trying with wind gusting to over 25 mph..But managed to troll with the wind to produce fish today..Fish were averaging in the 12 to 20 inch range with the exception of a 4lb triploid...Could not fish my hotspots that have produced the larger triploids due to the wind and weather...Very rough water..

Just a quick note on responses to my reports...I have learned over the years that if I want to dial in a fishery, learn the hotspots , and what presentation works the best in that specific reservoir, Lake or River, I personally hire a guide..

Most people that fish with me are after that trophy trout of a lifetime..Doesn't happen all the time but it happens..So going to Rufus woods for the first time can be very challenging on where to fish and what to use..That is why I am a Guide..I get more satisfaction out of being a guide when a boat pulls next to mine and a ex-client from the past hold up Hawg Triploid that they caught using my techniques..

Please fill free to contact me on info. or a guided trip to Rufus anytime...Joe Heinlen..Rufus Woods Guide and Lake Chelan...509-393-9665

Well put Joe,
it's easy to forget how difficult it is to learn new waters. Also some folks don't have access to the knowledge, means of transport (boat), or as you said just want a shot of catching the trout of a lifetime. When I travel, I look for new water to fish. since it may not be feasible to drag the boat around over the country, it makes sense to look into securing the services of a professional who knows the area.
Thanks Joe for the service you offer, AND keep up the good work.

Thanks for the report. Do be careful of solicitation, however, as it isn't in the spirit of the website.

Gisteppo is right,, but chelanlaketrout does and can provide a service that many would like. Hey, chelanlaketrout, how about checking with the administrators about adding a guide contact link? That way we can get reports that we all need and want, and we can also have an easy way to find guides that know the waters some of us want to fish.

Darrell and Dads have a great converted downstairs with kitchen, BR, bedrooms in Chelan, which is an easy 45 minute drive to RW. Very reasonably priced. Check it out at www.darrellanddads.com

Gisteppo, It's OK. Joe and Anton are long-time supporters of WL.com. Our policy is to allow sponsors to post their information on the site, it's a fair exchange because they do help to keep us viable. I'm in the process of completing a RW video from a trip with Joe, Anton, and Aaron. Pretty fun stuff.

Hey, I appreciate guide comments! Being a fairly good LW angler, this year I hired Brian Lull from Special Momneets Guide Service to go out with me twice on Lake Wash. He helped me "dial in" and we did really well, which allowed me to do well all summer long.
I would hire a quide when I get a chance to fish Rufus!
