At about 0850hrs I arrived at the lake. I planned on Fly fishing but I wore the wrong pants. I rigged up my spinning rod with a nymph fly and a bobber. Upon arrival at the lake I noticed that the lake level was substantially high from the recent rains. I was cloudy and calm but not raining. I picked a spot closest to some picnic tables not far from the entrance. As I started to fish, casting and reeling in slowly, I hooked a nice trout approx 18 inches not far from the shore, The weight was unknown. I then released the fish.

You don't hear many people using flies like that. I have in the past on lakes and rivers. Did you see fish rising?
