Rufus this week continues to be Productive...It is a dido of last weeks techniques except for today we caught most fish on copper and gold spoons...Trolled the can line to start the days off with a nice fish caught on Tuesday tipping the scale at 5lbs. The most productive area for me was the shoreline between pump1 and 4..
If you're after a bucket of perch this is also a great spot to bang them using a simple 2 hook rig with worm or tossing a crappie jig with or without a bobber to bang these tasty fish...There is alot of perch in this area using the weed beds for cover to attack the little minnows that they are targeting to put body fat on for the colder weather thats coming..
Just a little safety note for all that launch at Rufus...Always check the launch before backing down..May look free of ice but looks can be deceiving..The Army Corp. of Engineers supply a barrel of sand but sometimes it's gone, so I recommend bringing a bucket of sand with you when venturing to the best trout fishing in our state..I have seen some real awkward positioned boat, truck and trailers on this launch because of ice and inexperience..Gosh I consider myself very lucky to be able to provide a service on this reservoir..Thanks to all, and good luck on the water..Feel free to contact me on info. or a guided trip..
