1/23/2009 11:42:00 AMThat pic is an "unsuccessful" attempt at self photography, but the best this day. Set the camera on the front of the boat, aim it towards the back, set the timer and presto. Cut off the heads of the subjects. It was windy (waves) and was having trouble getting the frame right.
Malottguy, buy tackle in Wenatche, and order some stuff online. Not much here in Chelan.
Hey Big D, still watching the water for ya. We'll fish the same spots someday. It's a "cool" trip when it's breezy and in the teens and twenty's. My fishin Pard says she'll be glad when the weather improves, Things don't work as well in these temps. The stearing on the boat is extremely stiff to frozen up when we put in, takes awhile for the motor compartment to warm up enough to make the cables work. But the cables are many years old and probably need to be replaced.

The lower most pens are "Approximately" 25 miles up river from the Chief Joe dam. Not sure how far from Seatons Grove. I've never GPS the distance, just a guesstimate. And little by little is a great way to do so on a large body of water. There are so many Hot Spots along the length of this water, it can produce fish in any number of places. It's just hard for me to explore when we have some spots tat work for us.
Hey Jens, don't hesitate to come on over if you get the chance. It is a great body of water. Last trip out we saw deer, eagles, a coyote, and an otter. pretty cool stuff

1/23/2009 10:58:00 PMWe have days when it is hard for us to put sizable fish in the boat, but a fat 10-14" trout looks pretty good in the frying pan. Also, Size is relative, some lakes we fish a 12 incher would be a good fish, and we're thrilled for the chance to do battle with them, so go out there and pull on some of those hold overs.
NDN, I haven't tried the dodger set-up. I wonder if the 000 dodger would be large enough, the squid pulls quite abit on retrieve.
Went out today around 100PM, and got three (wife 2, me 1) for the smoker. Fish seemed to be holding at about twenty feet down 40-70 feet of water.May have to rest tomorrow.
