BRRRRRRR, we got to RW at 8 am and went to the 'Rock" which, I know, describes most of the lake....but it's a few miles past the Chief Joseph dam parking lot and next to an irrigation pump on Old Highland Orchard Road. We, the four of us, stood (shivered) for about 3 hours and Tim, the youngest, caught our only fish of the day. We then moved back to the restrooms, I mean the boat launch, and fished on the edge of the ice. Steve had one on, but it dove under a sheet of ice & it cut his line. As we were leaving, we were all estimating the catch, which is fisherman's lingo for 'givin the boy grief', and WDFW came by and weighed & measured it for us. He said it was the only one he had seen or heard of. Oh, yeah, it weighed 3lb. 15oz. & was 19 1/4" in length. We used a worm and marshmallow on about a 3'-4' leader and cast out as far as we could. Despite the 17 deg. it was when we got there (it was about 33 deg. when we left at 12:30pm) it was an enjoyable time with friends.
