Parrydog how are you doing. I fished several times myself, each time I've been there I have caught at least one ling. last time right before dark I lost a nice mack trying to get it out of the hole. I am going back Sat for sure Fri and Sun maybe. The last time I was there we caught 8 Lings 7 of those after dark. Are you using that 1 oz glow jig. I use a black gulp minnow for that contrast with the white jig and agianst the ice if the jig is above the fish. Also every Ling I have caught there belly was full of Crawdads (small ones 3'') so I also use Crawdad Smelly Jelly. Another trick is to pound the bottom with the jig a couple of time every so often. For the big macks some people are having luck using club tailed 6'' storm swim baits as jigs. We usually fish late into the night depending on the weather (wind). If you show up there to try agian Sat I am taking my twin nephews It should be easy to spot me I will be with two six foot 16 yr olds and I am 5'5''. We will all be wearing camo, me in an old school camo coveralls. Bead should start picking up anytime, maybe when it starts to warm up and the O2 level picks up?

I would be all over Bead again for the long weekend but I have a family event to attend this weekend, its not fishing but it should be fun. While fishing at another lake I overheard some fellas saying that bite at bead doesn't start till afternoon and into the evening. Hopefully the ice will still be good on the 21 and/or 22. If you make it out there again PM me, maybe I will be able to meet you out there, talking to someone who has actually caught a mack and ling may be the closest I get to catching one myself!
