Water is warming at Kapowsin.

Fished from 3p - 8p. Report at the boat house was that fishing has been very slow. Hatchery fish are fished out by humans, birds and fish in only two weeks, word is that they were smaller plants and didn't last long.

Saw a largemouth bass caught on a senko in the marshy stuff along shore right by the boathouse just after we arrived, worked that tight cover from a boat all afternoon with soft plastics but nary a bite.

Water got still just before dark and saw a very few splashy rises from either trout or panfish, managed to catch one bass from shore in pocket water - about 1.5 pounds - right at dusk. Heard of a few other bass caught by two other guys, all bass in shallow water tight to cover. Most other anglers reported no catch regardless of technique.

Remember to handle those bass gently and briefly, then let 'em swim, especially now as they're in pre-spawn.
