Well we hit Rock again. The nicest part about the trip was the freedom to go anywhere we wanted because no one braved the 16 degree weather with us. We caught about 20 of the typical 16 - 18 inch browns and bows and four over 20. My prize of the day was this 26 inch 6.25 lbs brown. As i said the average air temp was about 19, there were bluebird skies with a very little chop on the lake. We found pockets of fish in water temps around 38.5 degrees and higher... and as before we were throwing jerk baits and swimming jigs, no trolling. Good luck all.

Nice looking fish. Any idea how people have been doing from the shore around the launch area? I really want to get down there Saturday morning but my boat is out of action till I get it into a shop for some long overdue work.

I'm sure there's more than this, but the reports for this lake so far have posted Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Largemouth Bass.

Rock has Rainbows, Browns, Largemouth Bass, a few Smallmouth Bass (slowly increasing in numbers), some Bullhead cats, crappie, bluegills, some perch, carp, and some suckers. This is what I know about, but there could be more. I usually don't fish bait, so my reports on perch, suckers, and bullheads may be under stating their quantities. As for shore fishermen, remember that there is limited shore fishing access, so it is indeed first come - first fishing. The last couple of times I was out there there was a limited number of shore anglers, and they were not doing all that well. Also, if you do fish from shore, don't get upset if you are fishing where I or others need to launch or beach our boats. This can be combat fishing, and we will get out of your way as soon as we possibility can.
