Managed to make it to Rufus on Saturday...Pulled into the launch at 7:00am and was shocked to not see another boat launching...Started trolling along the can line and did not mark many fish..Moved up the reservoir above pump 1 and trolled the brandts landing side and found some biters..fished for 3 hours boated 6 with the big fish tipping the scales at 6lbs. ..Black wooleybuggers were the ticket behind the old faithful Action Disc..water is real cold still at 36.5 degrees..I do expect it to really pick up as the weather warms..Hopefully Rufus won't get dirty when things start melting. Feel free to contact me on tips or tricks anytime.

Wow, nice fish there. Good fighters i bet. I know i fisheed the area by the Colville Indian agence(nespelem) last summer and did very good. Small fish but 60+ fish days using maribu jigs. I fished a little bit above the nets i think it was. I was woundering if anyone does any fishing in that area there and how there are doing? Anyhow, stay safe out there!

Lots of fishing up at the pens but right now with the water temp so cold you really got to work at it..

Yeah the pens that you are talking about are the middle set of pens. That is where most people bank fish from. The pens that most people take their boats up to in the upper most set of pens, they are about 1-2 miles upriver from the pens that you fished around. The water temp is still too cold for the hot fishing. We were there a couple weeks ago, we caught some but the fishing was slow. My buddy went the next week, the week that they released 2000 fish from the pens that you fished around. He caught some fish too, but it was slow, he did catch a few that were tagged. When they release fish now they are tagging them with a green tag, they want to see how the fish disperse throughout the river. With the weather getting warmer it should get better soon, maybe around May. Best of luck
