The only thing I hate about recently planted trout is how small they are (at least in Bitter Lake). Fish ranged from 6 to 8 inches.

This was the 4th trip to Bitter Lake and I was already beyond bitter when I arrived. I tried to visit Green Lake but foot/bike and car traffic thanks to the nice weather made that a bust.

I arrived and three others were fishing on the east side of the park and reported no fish. I figured what the heck - it will just be yesterday without the wind and warmer. Ten minutes in I had my first hit and miss of the day. The other trips had single bumps but not takers. Five minutes after the first fish and my skunk streak was officially done. Light gear made the trip fun but these fish don't really hit still.

I had 4 more hits with 2 more landed before I left. I will let them grow before I go back thats assuming the birds don't get them first.

how far off the bottom were you fishing? I've been there twice in the last week with out even a nibble. I've been fishing with about a 3' 3.5' leader off the south and west shores.
