Again, the start in the morning was slow, but we made up for it during the middle part of the morning. We focused on depths of 185' to 225' in the lower basin of Lake Chelan. This day, the majority of the bites were in the transitional water from 205' to 215' feet deep within 5 or 10 feet of the bottom. Speeds of 1.4 to 1.5 were best with variations to help trigger them. The only thing that kept this from being a banner day was that we had some fish pull off the hooks and some light bites that we couldn't get hooked up. Getting the big fish of the day right at the end tends to make it really nice to. Austin and his grandparents had a great time. It was beautiful morning with late morning temps pushing 70 degrees, sunshine and no wind. We also some kokanee busting on the surface so they should be "lighting up" and biting any day now. Surface temp is pushing 48F by late morning.
