That's a goodly mess of perch, Was ya fishing from shore, or boat, and what part of lake. I've not fished this lake before, but sounds like I need to get in on some of the perch action. What size were they running? Thanks 980407 for the report. Like to hear folks are catching perch. one of my favorite eating fish.

Stan Coffin is in the Quincy Lakes chain. It's the first Lake that you come to after hittting White trail road, on the left. It's unique because it is the only lake slated to be a catch and release only for Largemouth Bass in the state. Stan Coffin is due south of the town of Quincy, about 8 or so miles. Theres a beautiful little gem of a lake just below Stan coffin called H Lake that has a decent panfish population with fairly easy access. Most people plunk for perch to the west and east of the public toilets on Stan Coffin. You can catch some along the roadway where you see three or four fence posts sticking out of the water. Theres a fairly deep hole by those posts and I have caught litterly hundeds of Bass, perch and bluegills fishing right off the access road near those posts in the water. It's also by two culverts that feed water down stream from Stan Coffin into H Lake. I reccomend a two hook worm rig for bottom fishing for perch or a jig w/ bobber combo for blue gill and sunfish. And if you take a boat, the deeper water along the north east shore, all the way up to the East end along the bluffs should produce panfish. There are several branch blow downs all the way at the East end that should hold some big bass too. Fish the weedbeds and toulees with an assortment of spinnerbaits, topwaters and dark plastics for some pretty decent Bass along the shallower south shore. There are some big channel cat fish in this lake, so don't be suprised if you nail one on a perch rig! The lake is weedy so be prepared to look for holes while you fish. The Jigmiester

We went in 2 boats. I went with my uncles and cousins for my birthday. They were about 5 to 9 inches. We cooked them up right by the lake.
