We were the only ones in the whole park. It's a little more of a walk trying to get the heavy boat down to the lake since the park is closed now, but we made it. Started in the rain around 7 stayed on the water until about 8:15-8:30. Rained consistently but the wind was very low, lake was great. slight fog, glass-like, all alone, dusk. Lots of buffleheads, an osprey hunting, and fish jumping every where.
I had three strikes trolling on low speed with flat fish. Landed one small trout on an F4 size, so I moved to the F3 to see if they would hook easier, and it didn't help. I put a dab of green powerbait on the hook at the end and got one strike, but i'm not sure the power bait added anything to the lure.
my buddy fished with a flat fish, and switched to brown rooster tail. He had 4-5 strikes and landed two fish.
Most luck for me seemed to be trying to keep the lure in the top 12" of water.
I forgot to take a picture of the fish until it was already on the frypan! Look delicious? that's fried trout & eggs with toast.
