Warmer water temps at the Rufus Woods. Noted the surface (18" deep) was running from 41 to 43 degrees depending on location. In some locales the water had the opaque run-off color and debri. Made a run up to the lower pens and fished several areas of shoreline on way back down. Had luck on our usual plastics, but the pink and white maribou was the most productive. all our catches were 3# or less, and since had fish in freezer, it was a C&R day. Did see successful anglers at the lower pens who were using bait (didn't ask what type), and looked to be nice fish. We marked arches on the dropoffs in 25-55 ft of water, but couldn't get them to bite our offerings, may have taken bait, but we had left the bait at home today. Also the fish may have been sucker/carp, don't know. A pair of Bald Eagles have set up nesting Just below the Cabin Hole on East side of river. A massive collection of material with a white head visibe sticking up, and the mate was sitting in a tall pine keeping watch. Watched an Osprey snag two trout in the lower lake, one of which was too large to get airborne, and finally lost, but it was quite a spectacle. Forgot the camera today, and missed some outstanding pics. Stay safe out there and enjoy

Hey Loui, I've been looking forward to hearing how you did this last weekend. Very happy you got into some fish. I picked up 5 or 6 on Sunday like you, all less than 3 lbs. I too watched several eagles and saw an Osprey gathering his/her lunch. Did you have opportunity to throw a pellet fly?

BigD, alas the pellet fly wasn't able to intice a strike, but it wasn't for the lack of trying. While at the pens, talked with the workers on duty, and they were saying their fish (in the pens) were off their feed, and the fish tey had seen caught were taken from a depth of 25-30 feet. Things will be changing soon though.
Yep, I saw those beauties, got some time off end of this week, May have to try an outing for the buggers.
