My wife is out of town on business so I hit RW early this morning. I was on the water at 6:30 am. The water was smooth when I first started trolling the south bank moving up river from the corps boat launch. Water temp was 39 degrees and air temp was running about 40 when I first put in. I didn't pick up anything in the first couple of hours trolling spoons & spinners. The wind picked up a little at about 10:00 so I crossed the river/lake and trolled the North shore back towards Chief Jo using several different colors of wooly buggers behind a wiggle fin. I picked up and released three nice two or three pound triploids on an all black wooly bugger just out from the state park boat launch. The wind stopped blowing for about an hour around noon so I pulled out my New & Improved Trout Pellet Fly and cast it towards the shore picking up three more triploids and one nice long shinny 18” native Rainbow. The lake didn’t seem busy at all today. I was the second rig in the lower parking lot when I pulled in this morning and when I left this afternoon at about 2:00 there were still two open spots in the lower parking lot. All in all a great day to be on the water.
