Went out to Sammamish with my son Saturday. First time out this year. Started trolling about 6:45am near the weather bouy water looked Muddy. Trolled towards the west shore from there.
Along the shore is 35 to 50 foot of water I marked a lot of bait fish. They ended up being salmon smolts fish were going nuts chasing them. Fish were jumping all over. I am embarresed to say my son and I had close to 40 hits and only boated 8 fish. I guess we are a bit rusty. Even the ones we boated were not hooked well the hooks fell right out when we netted them. Colors that worked the best were nickel and blue/nickel. The wind kicked up early in the evening and the bit died off we fished until about 6:15pm. A great day all in all. This is one of my favorite lakes for both variety and quality.
Also the water is high and docks at the launch are not useable, they are totally submerged.
