* I'm sorry in the delay of posting this report, but I've recovered (more info posted on the 'Cast and Blast' post)
Weather/Conditions:
Low prx system came over the hump last night bringing unstable conditions
Mid 50-60 F
Showers for several hours in late morning…then partly cloudy by late afternoon
Moon 48% waning
Surface water temp 40 F
Wind 3-7 mph variable
Well it was just one of those days for catchin'...zip, ziltch, nada, nothing, squelch (not even sure that one fits...but it sounded good!). I anchored in about 70 feet of water. Using downrigger, I fished an assortment of offerings at various depths. I was marking quite a few fish throughout the day…but no take downs. Most of the fish seemed about 20-40 feet down, but I fished down to 50 feet. The fish were just not on the move!
Used:
Steelhead jigs
Chartreuse Power Bait
Rainbow Power Bait
Dark Brown Glo-Bug (cut like a nugget)
No other nets got wet either (at least in my area)...sad but true. However I was able to re-mark alot of fish icons to the new Lowrance mapping system, courtesy of my good friend Gordon Steinmetz and his hand drawn maps he gave me quite a few years ago. Thanks Gordon!! Also the Bald Eagles soared overhead as the Otters splashed and played in the water…making all sorts of racket. It was the first official fishing trip for the new boat…beautiful time on the water!
Thanks,
Mav
