Casted off at 6:15AM. Many people at the lake but not as busy as most years. Once I got to my spot I had non stop action. I switched the type of spinner I was using frequently as the action dictated. Pink/Silver Vibrax, Trout patterned Rooster Tail, and a Trout colored Panther Martin worked best. All fish were released unharmed. Even though the fishing was great it was a Murphy's Law day:
I just got into the water and I was in the middle of the lake and my trolling motor stopped working. It was a connection issue. Got that fixed. I was fishing and had a short at the battery and the wires caught on fire and I burned my hand. I was able to get that taken care of well enough to get back to shore luckily.
I had an otter steal a fish as I was reeling it in. It was funny as he was pulling so much drag I didn't know what was going on at first.
The next to last fish I caught was on a Panther Martin with a #3 or 4 Treble. As I was trying to get the hooks out the fish wiggled and I got a hook in my thumb including the barb. There was no way to get the hook out the right way so I had to back it out. That felt really good.
Great fishing and a great story to tell who could ask for more.
