Started off the day with Melanie (my wife and best fishing partner) trying to dial in the fish for Lance's 1st opening day. we started at 1st light trolling wedding rings with nightcrawlers and maggots, Melanie released a small one (8 inches or so) and had two other small ones drop off, I switched to a black wooley bugger with an action disc down 20 ft. on the downrigger and picked one up a little bigger right away. As this was the first fish on the wiggle-fin I was excited, really does work. By this time the wind picked up making trolling not an option for Lance's 1st trip, wouldn't do to make him cold and miserable. We went to the launch where we met Lance and Grandpa Jerry at 8;00a.m., went out, anchored, and still-fished yellow power eggs with maggots and sherbert trout nuggets, had them back to the launch by the time the rain started at 11;00 a.m., a great time was had by all, esp. me.
