My son and I arrived at the lake around 10am very excited to try out my fishfinder. We started to the left of the launch and anchored. The fish were surfacing all over the lake. My son was tossing a 1/8oz silver/black roostertail and me a 1/12 oz silver/blue kastmaster. I would say we were catching those stockers about 1 every 10th cast or so. Not much size to any, but fun nonetheless. The temperature of the water was about 54 degrees and my son was marking fish about 12 to 14 ft. All fish were released to grow big, because from experience, Offut lake trout fight like no other. Of all the people we talked to in passing boats, not too many bigger fish reported, but did see a fellow lose a nice one at the dock. From the shouting, someone said it was easily a few pounds, but we'll never know!!
