This is part 1 of 2 reports on Beaver this morning. Got up to go bass fishing. Hit the lake at 6am. The only soul in sight was a guy going out from the park in a kayak (not fishing). Air temp was 44, water temp was 54, barometric pressure was 30.08. Decided to troll my little floating rapala (original color) on the surface on the wayout to the bass fishing spot. Had three hits and landed one in the first 5 minutes after launch. Got 6-10 more hits on the way out and landed one more. Fished for bass for about 1.5 hours before going back to trolling (no bass - see other report). Trolled for another hour and had about 50 hits total, hooked and lost about a dozen, and landed three more before quiting at 9am. All the trout were 10-13" stockers, with one nice one (guess about 15") lost at the boat.
Nice morning to be on the water.
