A friend and I hit Lake Sam today from 8:30am-1:30pm looking for perch. The wind was outragous. . . again. We found a good spot in 35ft of water; hooked 2 (both about 7 inches) before we were dragging our achors from the wind. We tried several more spots in the 25-45 foot range in areas that were somewhat protected from the wind and ended up catching one more (8") on the north end of the lake in 30 ft of water. Water temp was 56.1-58.2. Jig color didn't matter; caught one on a chartruese gitzit, one on white curlytail, one on copper tube (1/16 oz). If the wind was a little lighter there is no doubt we would have caught more. Perch should get hot when the water temp goes up another 7-10 degrees. will try again in a few weeks.
