Took my youngest fishing at Pine lake. I've taken him a couple other times before, but he had never caught anything. I was surpised Pine was so busy being midday on a weekday.
Anyway the fishing was a little slower than it was the other morning, but still had no trouble getting a hit every 10 mins or so. The fish seemed to be hitting anything, so I switched yellow marshmellows (normally prefer the powereggs). Long leaders is the key.
Anyone else feel the dock isn't well designed? I'm sure the Y looks nice on paper, but some people can't figure out that it means you need to watch where you cast. I was over by the picnic table on the right side, and was casting off to the right. Still had people to the left of me tangling my lines. Got a little short with the guys immediately to my left (if that was you then sorry dude - just was getting fustrated)
Later I realized that the real jerks were the ones on the left side of the Y. They were casting straight out and got my line a couple of times. Due to the way they were casting the guys between me and them had little choice than to cast farther to the right than they might otherwise.
Anyway my son caught his first couple of fish. We had a few other hookups, but lost them on the way to the dock.
