Tried Ki for the first time. The catching was slow for me, but still had a good time -- catching the one fish helped. Fished from 07:30 to noon. Trolled my usuall wedding ring as well as a roostertail, which yielded three strikes but no hookups. Switched to the metallic blue F-4 flatfish, with a egg slip sinker on top of a leader to take it a little deep. Took less than 5 minutes to snare the 10" fish pictured with the lure that fooled him. My favorite part was when I first noticed some splashing behind my boat, then realized it was on my line,

Weather was fair, foggy at first. Got a little windy at times. Several other boats out and a few bankers/dockers. Water temp wen from 56 to 58 when I pulled out. People using worms seemed to be faring well.

This seems to be the pattern thus far with those of us who are trolling for the most part are having limited success, and those who are willing to sit and bait fish are catching some fish. I have had the same experience trolling the last few weeks since the opener and it's frustrating to say the least. I am hoping things will pick up for us trollers. Thanks for your report. I live fairly close to ki and was thinking about fishing it soon. I will wait until next weekend with hope that the bite improves. At least you didn’t get skunked, and you definitely gave it a chance fishing 4.5 hours, That’s determination!
