Fished my buddies private community lake. The lake is lake mcdonald and we were catching 1.5 pound trout on average until all heck broke loose. My buddy was trolling a wedding ring with a worm about two feet under the surface on a 4'6 Ultralight pole with four pound test. He gets a little bump and then the fish inhales the bait and strips off 60 yards of line on the initial run i was so worried we were gonna be spooled. Everytime he gained line on the fish it took it right back it had three runs where it took over 40 yards of line off the reel. 10 minutes and half way across the lake later we slide the net under what was a MONSTER HOLDOVER RAINBOW. The bow measured at 26 inches and weighed in at 7lbs. Truely a powerful fish.
