Try placing a small (3-4") chrome/gold flasher or hammered spoon with no hooks in front of your swivel. You will have to vary the length of your leader (I go 3 feet) before tying your wedding ring. Also rerig wedding ring with 4 lb. test and #4 Mustad egg hook. This gives you the option of adding half a worm as juice in case of short bites. MAKE SURE THE WORM LAYS FLAT AND DOESN'T SPIN! YOU WILL GET MINIMAL BITES IF IT DOESN'T LOOK NATURAL! Troll in long S shape every 30-40 yards 4 feet off bottom and keep an eye on depthfinder! I have found parts of this lake to have deeper holes! Lighter colors seem to be doing better due to darker depth. I had a 24" fattie follow to the surface after missing a bite and resetting. Rooster or Bang tails in 1/4 oz. are working for me as a Plan "B".(chartreuse with black dots, black/red, and light brown with SILVER willow blades or prism tape. GOLD not so hot.) Yet to try Kastmasters in 1/4 oz. silver/gold, that works well too. Try this before kid's fishing derby on Saturday. New dual boat launch is great and should be open this weekend. They constructed it the right way and there are 4 docks for anglers without boats. Plenty of 8-14" fish right now and will get better once water is over 60 .(52-58 right now) If you want to fish on top, wait for the bugs to come out in the evening, even the birds are eating them and you'll see small trout jumping around. 2 lb. test and a baby spinning rod works great, good fun! Limits last 2x out and I normally don't keep smaller stockers under 14", let em grow! I'm a big fan of Quality not Quantity!
