Blue skies, calm clear water, and the first time in a month my father in law felt good enough to go fishing. We arrived at aroud 10 am and began trolling heading out to the western shore. Caught my first stocker just north of the VA hospital. We kept heading northwards and got several bites up north of the park/ boat launch. Got up to the north end and did several loops around the top end of the lake and consistently got bites and fish, but only on the western half of the lake. Filled up a stringer with stockers smallest was 7 in. largest was 12 in. most were in the 9 in size. After limiting out we tried for some perch or other game fish but didn't have any luck. We were still thrilled to have our trout and called it a day at about 5 pm. water temp was about 58 degrees and I had best luck using a green/yellow wedding band with worm trolled very shallow. Fish finder didn't show anything much below the top 15 feet of water. Lots of other fisherpeople seemed to be having luck as well. All in all, a great day on the water, hopefully just one of many this year. Happy fishing everyone.
