I was at Pine Lake from 3:15 to 5:45. Fishing was absolutely dead from 3;15 to 4:30. Not a single nibble. I tried different leader lengths 5,7 and 10 feet. I also tried various powerbaits including power eggs and 3 inch power trout worms. I was about to leave because I thought the weather killed the bite, Then I got a bite from a large 8 inch planter. I caught it on a 10 ft leader with red power eggs. That was the combination that worked for the day. Limited over the next hour. Its still combat fishing at the dock. Saw some anglers crossing lines with each other. One guy got really mad over crossed lines.

Fishingmachine - were you in the right side with the picnic table? That side of the dock is always crowded. I was the guy with the seahawks hat

My seven year old son and I are trying to learn how to fish at Pine Lake. How do you cast a 10' leader on a crowded dock? Do you literally attach 10' of leader to a swivel on one end and a snell hook size 6 on the other with 2-3 power eggs?

This was the first time I used a 10 ft leader at Pine. I have had sucess with 5-7 ft leaders before there. So i literally had a 10 ft leader with a size 8 egg hook with 2 eggs. I just threw the eggs behind me and made sure that the line wasnt caught on the pole before I made my cast. Just let people around you know that your about to cast if theres someone near you or in the way.
