Was on the lake at 8:30 am, Launched at the resort, there was a small chop on the water when we started trolling plugs, but by the time we netted the first Rainbow ( 3lb ) at about 9:00 am, the chop had increased to whitecaps, making it a real contest to keep the boat going in the right direction and netting fish. We gutted out the wind and had a great day fishing, this was my first time to fish Sprague, but my fishing buddy Roy Houle had been there several times, and as many folks know, Roy is a great fisherman.

We fished until about 3:00 pm, kept ten fish that ranged from 2 lb. to 5.5 lb. We had about thirty or more takedowns, released smaller fish and lost quite a few, Roy wanted to keep the ten for smoking, or we would have released them also. let me tell you Roy's smoked fish is a real treat. I was surprised at the fight these Rainbows put up most of them jumping four or five times, there were three of us fishing, Joe Sellers, Roy Houle and Ken New, what a great day, even if the wind was blowing. Sorry for the picture background, the wind was blowing water, and didn't want to get the camera wet, will do better next time.
