I decided to give Green Lake a try again after being skunked there the last two times. I blamed no fish on the weather conditions. Since it was so nice the past two days, maybe the fish will bite. I fished from the crew docks on the southend for two hours. I tried every lure I had including rapalas, kastmasters and spinners. I might have had one weak hit on a spinner. There were tons of snags around the crew docks as well. I lost two lures in the water on 4# line light action gear.

I saw several people fishing with bait that did not catch any fish. There were also fish rising every 20 minutes. I thought the trout were rising, but it might have been just carp rising. Skunked streak at three now.

For Green lake I do best with a partial night crawler under a bobber, about 3' under the bobber. Go from about 6:00 pm til dark. You shouldn't be able to miss. Just make sure you worm is not too big, nor the hook. If you are not able to get out on to the lake itself, then I usually fish the West bank, about where 65th street comes down to the lake.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tip Quadfather. I'll have to try the worm set up sometime. Is a size 8 baitholder hook good for worms? Someone told me they were using a size 6 octopus hook for worms at Green Lake.
Btw,I was trying to catch my first fish ever on a lure yesterday. Not sure what I was doing wrong.

I must admit that I don't think of hooks by the size #. So I can't tell you what a size 8 looks like, but I will tell you that the length of the hook will be about from your cuticle on your middle finger to the edge of your finger nail. That is about 1 cm.
