Great day of bass fishing at Long Lake. It was great to break out of my normal Liberty Lake routine and head out to a different body of water. We have too much good fishing out here to get stuck at a single lake. Head out and learn different water and it will make you a better fisherman.

We caught lots of fish today and missed the prime times. We started at the DNR launch around 11 and caught the majority of our fish on the channel side (deep water) of the islands across the lake from Tum Tum. The fish were cruising the transitions from 7 to 5 feet of water on the deep side before heading into the flats around the islands for spawing time.

The water was 54 to 57 degrees and I didn't see any bedding activity as of yet. Our fish were caught on jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and some soft plastics in the timber later in the day. Chelsea's two fish in the pic were caught in less than 30 minutes, weighing in at 3-2 and 3-8, way to go honey. Nothing like getting out fished by the wife to start the day!

The lake looks great, not a lot of debris in the water. The ramp up to spawn should continue to provide great fishing.
