Fishing trip was from May 13th through May 17th. Made the 4 hour drive over to Steamboat Rock State park on Wednesday. The introductory weather was not great. Powerful winds made it tough the first night. LowVW caught one, and then we got pretty wet trying to get back to the launch that evening. The next morning (14th) we went to Roosevelt and threw some powerbait in. Fishing has been really slow in the last couple of years at the lake near the dam. We used to pull fish in left and right. But we did get one really nice one that morning. I had my youngest boy real it in, and we both almost fell in the water. Winds were still pretty gusty, but not nearly as bad as the first night. That day we went back out on Banks and landed a few good Smallies and Largies. We did the exact same thing the next day (15th) with my other boy landing another good trout, and LowVW getting two of his own. Bass were hitting pretty well that day on banks as well, and the wind was minimal, allowing us to set the hook real good. Saturday the family and I went up to Molson and visited the museum and ghost town. I'm really thinking about hitting Osoyoos (Spelling?) one of these times. On Sunday we hit banks one last time and got my nephew some Smallies. My biggest fish came in at 3 lbs 9 oz. I'm still searching for that first 5+ pounder :).

Great trip, and good memories. Gotta love that area!

Snoho...If you want truely giant Smallies, you gotta try Moses. I know where to fish and have caught a few of them over 6! TJM P.s what was your best pattern on Banks for your Bass? Cranks? Dropshots? Plastics? Just curious...

We mainly looked for steep dropoffs near the roadway and also out on the cliff walls. Plus, we were able to find some humps here and there, and warmer water points.
