I got to Long Lake about 9AM. It was overcast and windy. I had never been fishing on Long Lake before. I caught 1 small trout about 20 min. after launching my pram. I was the only boat on the lake. Was not impressed with Long Lake. Water stained and too many weeds. My guess the weeds are only going to get worse as it warms up. Spent too much time clearing my prop and fly. Too many other nice lakes to be impressed with Long Lake.

Sad to hear that you were unsuccessful on the lake. But Long Lake is not really good for trout fishing (more for bass fishing). Unless you are there in the right time of the year it isn't really productive for trout and WDFD doesn't stock the lake.

Good for trout in the winter, otherwise....it's a bass deal

Bring on the grass! More grass more bass!

Well, I have never targeted bass before. Looks like I will have to quit whining and find some bass flies and hit the lake again. From the aerial photo on LiveMAps it looks like the south end of the lake around the pad fields should be good. I do mostly catch and release unless it is a hawg it will go back in the water. Nice to know we have a good bass lake so close to home. I love being on the water. Any day I can spend time on the water is a good day.

Thanks for you comments

The south end of the Lk is a ski area! At times the guys will tell you they will start skiing soon. There are good fish on that end if you can take the waves.
